Foundation Principal Appointed for All Saints Anglican School

The Anglican Schools Commission today announced the appointment of Mr Jim Laussen as the Foundation Principal for All Saints Anglican School.

An experienced educational leader, Mr Laussen is the current Principal of Overnewton Anglican Community College in Melbourne, a position he has held for 22 years.

With a plan to conclude his current role at the end of this year, Mr Laussen said he immediately recognised the wonderful opportunity that the role of Foundation Principal at All Saints Anglican School would bring.

“Having devoted my career to the learning and wellbeing of children, the prospect of leading a new school and joining the people who will become the community of All Saints is immensely exciting to me,” he said.

As a parent of two daughters who are now independent adults, I understand from both sides the great benefits to children of creating and sustaining strong connections between families and their school. There could not be a better opportunity to do this than at the birth of a brand-new school community.

I am looking forward with great enthusiasm to making Shepparton my home and working with the families, staff and children of All Saints Anglican School to establish and build a truly remarkable centre for learning and service.”

ASC Chief Executive Officer The Reverend Peter Laurence OAM said Mr Laussen was well known both within Victoria and nationally as an outstanding educational leader.

“Under Mr Laussen’s leadership, Overnewton College has become recognised for its commitment to family and parental engagement with their children’s learning. It has remained a warm, caring community while maturing into a vibrant, outward-looking centre for excellence in primary and secondary education,” Reverend Laurence said.

“Jim has also served in many leadership and governance roles for Independent Schools Victoria, the Association of Heads of Independent School Australia, Anglican Schools Australia and many more.”

Mr Laussen, who will start in his new position in April 2023, said he was looking forward to meeting the All Saints and Shepparton community over the coming months.
